What about Mersoon
It's been awhile. Life happens and often happens along rocky roads. I've completed a second Mersoon book set before the story in Mersoon Rising. Mersoon Heritage reveals how Vintori meets his sons for the first time and his marriage to Malina. You'll witness Trion's first lover's tragic loss and Jossi's mad genius. But for now, grab the ebook Mersoon Rising 2nd edition at a bargain price on Amazon.

Signing
Thank you to all who dropped by the Nicola's Bookstore booth at the Kerrytown Book Festival in Ann Arbor on Sunday Sept. 8. The sun was out, the day pleasant and the smiles contagious.
For my first time signing, it was great. Now if I hear readers are reading and enjoying Mersoon Rising, I'd be even more pleased.
Remember to check the website and download the cast of characters and glossary!
If you have questions email me at mersoonmoon on Yahoo. Put Mersoon reader in the subject and I'll be sure to give it my attention.

Looking at Ladies
Tall, dark (or not so dark) and handsome males. Oh yes, if
you read Mersoon, male protagonists dominate
the storyline. But their female counterparts have their time under the spot
light too.
Malina Firfwaat Jymirr Erroc. A lot of
name for a woman only 4’11”. She is the Shepherdess of Erroc; she was a princess
when her husband won her hand after a warrior’s contest. Mersoon Rising mentions her late father Tolvet Firfwaat Erroc more
than once. He was a grand warrior, a loving father, abusive husband and a raging
bigot.
Malina
married the man her father hated most, a man once betrothed to her mother, and the
man who killed her father---Vintori Jymirr. Although short of stature, she's a
muscle bound warrior, skilled marksman, swordsman and equestrian. One of my
favorite scenes has her using an energy pistol on surveillance cameras she
objects to.
Narr Jymirr. As a Jymirr female, Narr
is a rare being. Few Jymirr females are left and she’s persuaded and expected
to be the vessel for more Jymirr off spring. This, despite her relationship
with a native Mersoon. She’s gorgeous, an engineer and pilot and her half-brother
is the Shepherd, Vintori Jymirr.
Mykel Kwik. Of all the ladies, my
favorite is Mykel. She’s rather a mutt as she’s part DOE, native Mersoon and a
bit of Jymirr. As Shadow Guard to Vintori Jymirr, she is with him more than anyone
is. Strong, agile and deadly with her bare hands or any weapon, Mykel goes
about her tasks with quiet, loyal precision. When she appears in scenes, guarding
a doorway or at Vintori’s side, I think I view scenes through her eyes. Did
that become a flaw in the work? Well...I just hope Mykel gets noticed.

The Rise of Mersoon Rising
I completed writing Mersoon Rising long before our mixed race president ran for office and before I’d even heard his name. It was quite a coincidence this book presents a System Alliance Overseer election caught in an uproar about a candidate who is a half DOE (Descendant of Earth) and half alien human. The election progresses and uncovers a political system brimming with extortion, deceptions and rebellion. At the same time, Mersoon’s constant conflicts ebb and flow and personal relationships sizzle along the sidelines.
I nearly decided not to send this book out for publication. Then on the off chance I might get some feedback, I sent an excerpt to a well-established author for his opinion. He encouraged me by saying simply; it appeared very publishable and later that it was “feisty” text. I made sure to recognize him on the acknowledgment page of Mersoon Rising.
From a review of the galley
Mersoon Rising now appears on Amazon. Wow,
it’s like a little planet in an infinite galaxy!

Heroes and Villains
Recalling my favorite books, I've discovered a disturbing
thing about myself but I'm just about certain, I'm not alone. For me, great villains make a great read. While writing I often struggle with inventing
flawed heroes--wanting them to be at once likable yet ruthless. Or I wrestle
with villains that are not all bad; who present a bit of humanity and reason along
the way. These guys are fun to create and get to know. There's no shortage of
flawed heroes and remarkable villains in Mersoon
Rising. Some of my all-time favorite villains and flawed heroes appear in: Sardonyx Net by Elizabeth Lynn (Only
book of a few I've reread); a series starting with An Exchange of Hostages by Susan R. Matthews; Summer Queen by Joan Vinge; James Lee Burke's books set in, LA; and
the Gap Series by Stephen R. Donaldson.

Planet Mersoon
During Mersoon Rising,
visitors to Mersoon arrive at a space port on the east coast of the single continent.
DOEs constructed the space port after they settled on the planet centuries
before the period in the book. DOEs—Descendants of Earth—had hoped to colonize a
small uninhabited planet in the early stages of formation. Millions of islands filling
Mersoon's Ocean formed then disappeared as oceanic volcanoes and deep "rivers"
gradually reformed the very core of Mersoon. But DOEs had encountered inhabitants
so near to Earth humans, many began to believe either planet seeding was not
just a theory, or that God's creation expanded far beyond the heavens and the Earth. Whether God's creation or something else, the descendants and Mersoons soon discover they have many things in common.Get Mersoon Rising here:
