Looking at Ladies

Tall, dark (or not so dark) and handsome males. Oh yes, if you read Mersoon, male protagonists dominate the storyline. But their female counterparts have their time under the spot light too.
Malina Firfwaat Jymirr Erroc. A lot of name for a woman only 4’11”. She is the Shepherdess of Erroc; she was a princess when her husband won her hand after a warrior’s contest. Mersoon Rising mentions her late father Tolvet Firfwaat Erroc more than once. He was a grand warrior, a loving father, abusive husband and a raging bigot.
Malina married the man her father hated most, a man once betrothed to her mother, and the man who killed her father---Vintori Jymirr. Although short of stature, she's a muscle bound warrior, skilled marksman, swordsman and equestrian. One of my favorite scenes has her using an energy pistol on surveillance cameras she objects to.
Narr Jymirr. As a Jymirr female, Narr is a rare being. Few Jymirr females are left and she’s persuaded and expected to be the vessel for more Jymirr off spring. This, despite her relationship with a native Mersoon. She’s gorgeous, an engineer and pilot and her half-brother is the Shepherd, Vintori Jymirr.
Mykel Kwik. Of all the ladies, my favorite is Mykel. She’s rather a mutt as she’s part DOE, native Mersoon and a bit of Jymirr. As Shadow Guard to Vintori Jymirr, she is with him more than anyone is. Strong, agile and deadly with her bare hands or any weapon, Mykel goes about her tasks with quiet, loyal precision. When she appears in scenes, guarding a doorway or at Vintori’s side, I think I view scenes through her eyes. Did that become a flaw in the work? Well...I just hope Mykel gets noticed.
